About Us

Nuclear Races was created by James Parrish - farmer, engineer, course builder & entrepreneur. James has seized the opportunity to take obstacle races to an awesome new level of investment & race quality.

Having built and organised over 12 races to date, we know what our runners want! We have no hidden charges, deliver highly organized, challenging & gritty courses at every single race. We are different to other events as we own the machinery and the land – so there’s no barriers to how big or muddy we can go with our course design and obstacles.

The Nuclear Races team:

Passionate about the countryside and outdoor sports, Nuclear Races aims to thrill people with truly epic, gritty and highly organized races leaving everyone who takes part with an amazing and satisfying sense of achievement. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent events that fulfill what we promise - quality races for all abilities of fitness from elite to first timers, enormous permanent obstacles, loads and loads of mud and a fantastic fun, friendly and memorable atmosphere.

    Our Land - Our Rules

The Parrish family have owned and farmed land in Kelvedon Hatch for three generations acquiring the Secret Nuclear Bunker in 1991. As well as being open to the public, the Secret Nuclear Bunker Estate also offers outdoor adventure activities including aerial high ropes course, quad biking, Skate Barn, Wildcraft, waterzorbing, archery, trials bike club, fishing lakes, paintballing & The Bunker Bash Military Show.

We've always welcomed the general public onto our land through our outdoor activities and like to treat our customers as part of the #NuclearFamily.

Our ultimte goal is to bring people to the great outdoors and have FUN!

    Community - Experience - Attitude

Community is at the core of everything we do - we want to induct individuals and groups but without losing their own style and character; we want you to feel part of the #NuclearFamily but at the same time remain firmly part of your gym, boot camp, running club or club.

We want to give everybody an experience they remember; we want to be able to set a challenge to all entrants and once you've smash it we want you to come back for more!

Atitude; you may be fit as a fiddle, a couch potato or somewhere inbetween on your journey - we want you to leave us with an attitude that says 'I can do that, and what's next?'.
